THE THIRD SPACE

Graduate Thesis ‘19 at UIC School of Design
The Third Space is a postcolonial sociolinguistic theory of identity and community realized through language. It is attributed to Homi K. Bhabha. It explains the uniqueness of each person, actor or context as a "hybrid”.

Through a series of design gestures, this project investigates various facets of post-colonial theory.
